The purpose of this position is to perform clerical duties in accordance with the office procedures of individual departments. May include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping, typing or word processing, stenography, office machine operation, and filing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
May answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages.
May open, sort, and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs packages, boxes, odd sized packages consistently throughout the workday.
Driving to multiple sites to ensure the delivery of mail, packages, copy products and stationery to assigned group/location per daily schedule that includes driving to each location.
Ensure that all packages received/delivered are shipped and/or delivered same day, or alternatively consignee with be advised of next day delivery.
Audit delivered items with delivery invoices. Approve or reject deliveries based on inspections.
Ensure all shipped packages are adequately protected against damage,
Process shipment request with vendor, advising package owner of arrangements.
May compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.
May review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be physically able to lift up to 50lb boxes and move 30-40 boxes. Physical ability to assist with document services operations.
Must be able to drive a company vehicle on a daily basis to ensure package deliveries to various office sites.

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
