Description/Opportunity: We're looking for a UX Researcher to help us grow our UX practice as we work to expand our internal and client- facing (web and mobile) applications. The ideal candidate will have experience taking ownership of the user research process and how it integrates into the larger product team. This person would begin immediately as a full-time employee in Seattle, WA.
Backed by senior CBRE executives, our small, fast-paced team is on a mission to change the space of commercial real estate through our suite of simple and intuitive client-side applications.
Essential Knowledge and Skills: As a User Experience Researcher, you will be responsible for helping teams collect input from users, manage research (design, lab/field/remote analysis, reporting, etc.), and work collaboratively with designers, product managers, developers, and business stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
Working closely with cross-functional teams to help identify and prioritize quantitative and qualitative research needs
Conducting all aspects of user research: research design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, report store/versioning
Assisting in translating research findings, requirements, and business/user needs into relevant and simple
Conducting heuristic evaluations of products, incorporating basic ideas of product & business thinking
Actively monitoring and analyzing research, data, and trends from internal sources, academic research, and industry published reports to inform and improve our products and research methods
Present and communicate research clearly and effectively across various stakeholder groups
Be a user-centered design evangelist within CBRE
What You Bring:
Curiosity and interest in how people work and solve problems in their day-to-day
Experience in gaining active end-user input into the specification, design, and implementation phases through usability studies, interviews, and other observational methods (web analytics, remote logging, remote unmoderated tests, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions
Interest in leveraging your data storytelling skills to communicate findings with diverse audiences
Eagerness to continually learn, develop your skill set, and improve the craft of UX research
Required Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
4 years of relevant work experience
At least 2 years of usability testing and UX research experience in a business or academic setting
Master's degree in Behavioral Science, Computer Science (with Human-Computer Interaction focus), Human Factors, Usability, or Cognitive Psychology
2+ years of experience integrating UX research into Agile environments
Familiarity with accessibility and related standards
Ability to create simple diagrams/sketches to convey ideas to teams
Ability to work in a startup environment
Ability to own projects and communication throughout the research process
Strong grasp of qualitative & quantitative methods including statistics and survey research
