The Assessment & Consulting Services business is currently seeking Health, Safety and Environmental professionals in support of a client in Sunnyvale, CA. The purpose of this position is to support and assist in the management of HSE (Environmental Health and Safety) programs relative to a specific account or market area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in Managing HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE needs of a client account(s). Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.
Assists in the development and implementation of standardized metrics to measure the effectiveness of the construction HSE program monthly. Provides recommendations for program refinement to increase enrichment, understanding and maturity based on a review of standardized metrics.
Support the process for monitoring injury, illness, and incident related performance within the assigned account, or market area. Support the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.
Acts as a resource to staff and internal customers as the HSE subject matter expert. Provides direct and timely advise and information to the management responsible for the account, market area, or other assigned area of responsibility in matters related to HSE performance, compliance, trends, and concerns.
Assists in the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required.
Executes service requests related to auditing, audit metric database management, audit finding resolution follow-up, daily log maintenance, preparation of final compliance reports with photographs and executing equipment commissioning checklists by partnering with construction vendors.
Acts as a resource to team and account employees as a construction HSE subject matter expert and establishes cross-functional partnerships with account departments and stakeholders to facilitate understanding and maturity of program.
Promotes safety consciousness among team, partners, stakeholders, and account employees by providing accurate and informative data, conducting training, participating in program awareness opportunities, giving timely feedback on program questions, and visibly supporting the overall HSE program(s).
Identifies opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services.
Responds to customer member concerns regarding HSE matters.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum 3 years of related management experience. Preferences Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in HSE, Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry or other science related field and 5 years working on major construction projects in the safety field or an equivalent combination of practical experience and education. Strong knowledge of interpreting and complying with OSHA 1026.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
As required by local authority (if required). Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) in Construction Preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to stakeholders. Ability to effectively partner with stakeholders, vendors, or regulatory authorities.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret safety standards, building codes, plans, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
