Responsible for conducting research and data analysis for a variety of organizational projects and initiatives. Based on the qualifications and interests of the candidate, we are considering applicants for one of two potential positions:
Retail Market Data Analyst for Manhattan (based in Midtown Manhattan) Office Market Data Analyst for Fairfield, CT and Westchester County, NY (based in Stamford, CT)
Researches and collects market information in the assigned market area. Gathers data on newly available properties, transactions, tenants, tenants in the market, and new developments and inputs data into appropriate spreadsheets and databases.
(For the retail position ONLY) Visits various retail corridors within Manhattan to verify and update streetscape maps. Collects information on tenants, space availability and other data points relevant to the retail market. Updates streetscape maps reflecting newly-acquired data.
Performs regular maintenance and updates to property databases by conducting telephone surveys, on-site surveys, research forums, broker meetings, extracting data from brochures and other marketing materials, contacting civic organizations, outside agents, internet, and other sources. Implements Research processes to assure data quality is in accordance with corporate standards.
Maintains accurate property and availability information relating to all properties managed by CBRE entities.
Performs periodic data audits and change reports to ensure that quantity and quality of our data is top notch.
Responds to ad hoc internal and external client requests for data, graphs, commentary, etc.
Picks up basic data visualization and programming skills to assist the Senior Analyst and DI manager on special projects.
Other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or Associate degree and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
0-4 years of experience in commercial real estate or other market research role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
Possesses strong organizational skills, is thorough and detail-oriented.
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
Ability to handle and manipulate large amounts of data. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office and Tableau. Possesses a positive, "can do" attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
Good people skills, ability to build rapport easily
Knowledge or prior experience with real estate a plus.
For the retail role, experience or familiarity with the retail industry, and knowledge of Manhattan retail destinations is a plus.
For the office role, must be willing to commute to Stamford, CT. Knowledge of Fairfield County, CT / Westchester County, NY geography is a plus.
