The primary role of the Sr. Director of Industrial & Logistics (I&L) Research is to ensure that CBRE is the preeminent global thought leader in I&L real estate. The ideal candidate will be sought after to participate in client meetings, be visible to the real estate community and have a constant flow of external speaking opportunities. He or she will also promote the CBRE Research product to the media in partnership with the CBRE I&L Communications leadership. This appointee is responsible for spearheading the production of I&L market analysis and commentary on market trends in conjunction with the CBRE I&L Marketing leadership.
A second priority area is to ensure that the Research department is strategically aligned with the objectives of the I&L line of business within CBRE, both in the Americas and globally. This role is responsible for proactively connecting with the service lines to lead discussions and generate ideas for the constant improvement of research-related, client facing materials focusing on the I&L perspective. The Ideal candidate will have an intimate knowledge of both investor/owner and occupier needs, but must be exceptional on the I&L occupier sector - trends, current conditions, influencing factors, up and coming potential clients, etc.
Thirdly, the global head of I&L Research will report to and work closely with the Global Head of Research in managing and leading the broader global Research community within CBRE.
The role will suit someone with the ability and ambition to move from an established national to an international profile.
Key Responsibilities Directly manage one I&L researcher team member that focus on national and global data capture, reports and trends affecting I&L real estate; matrix manage various researchers around the globe who work on I&L data and trends, specific to their markets.
Partner with I&L research leads in APAC and EMEA to ensure regional content is aligned with global strategy.
Partner with I&L business leaders within CBRE and the industry
Develop innovative points of view for I&L and incorporate findings into I&L presentations and white papers
Develop deep relationships with key I&L clients about market conditions and present at conferences about the state of the I&L market, both in the US and globally
Evaluate processes and tools for developing advanced information and analytics approaches as a key driver of differentiation. Be part of CBRE's evolving digital strategy.
Evaluate opportunities to extract customer relevant insights from existing data
Work collaboratively with other members of the CBRE research team on joint projects where appropriate
Qualifications World-class presentation skills
Strong leadership skills and influencing skills
Solid understanding of the commercial real estate business, particularly I&L, especially on the occupier side
Prior experience in a Research related function is highly preferred
Knowledge of data management and analytics
Excellent decision-making skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to work well under pressure, with multiple/competing deadlines, on various projects
Effective working in a team environment and as an individual
Expert in use of windows applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
A post-graduate degree would be preferred
